Summary

The Airbus DS NL EuroSim - real-time simulation framework for spacecraft is designed to speed up the spacecraft development cycle by introducing early test feedback. The system has a 20+ years heritage and is the in-house platform at the European Space Technical Centre ESTEC. It is deployable on workstations, servers, desktops, or even single-board computers (SBCs), such as the Raspberry PI.

Originally, the system was developed as part of the European Robotic Arm programme of the European Space Agency for the verification and training activities.

For integration with operational facilities and for hardware-in-the-loop simulation, models can be reused, or coded and integrated with out-of-the-box interfaces and powerful scheduling. Hardware in-the-loop simulation with EuroSim out-of-the-box front-end can lead to higher probability of mission success.

EuroSim’s client-server integration and visualization capabilities can enable an improvement to mission preparedness through validation of training operators and procedures under different scenarios.
