The Airbus Rubidium atomic frequency standard (RAFS) is a space-qualified product designed for communication, navigation, and scientific space missions. It has a radiation tolerant level suitable for low earth orbit (LEO), medium earth orbit (MEO), and geostationary earth orbit (GEO). RAFS can also be utilised with a clock monitoring and control unit (CMCU) to form a complete timing subsystem. The product weighs 3.3 kgs and has an average power consumption rate of 30 Watts. It has the ability to be in service during space missions for more than 15 years.
