NASA Rapid III SSTL-150

Summary

The SSTL-150 provides versatile payload accommodation and its straightforward interface makes it ideally suited for use with customer supplied payloads. It is capable of carrying a wide range of payloads requiring 50 kg / 50 W baseline capability. The SSTL-150 is one of four Surrey platforms in the NASA Rapid III catalog.

The SSTL-150 is based on Surrey’s heritage platform design used for DMC-4 (launched October 2005), TopSat (launched October 2005) and the RapidEye 5-satellite constellation (launched August 2008) which have accumulated over 23 years of in-orbit heritage.

The SSTL-150 platform’s versatility enables it to be used for a single-bus mission, or for a cost-effective constellation mission, such as the highly successful RapidEye geospatial imaging constellation which has achieved more than 12 years in-orbit heritage.
