Summary

The Airbus CMG 15-45 S is a compact and high-performance control momentum gyroscope (CMG) solution designed for medium satellites. It has 45 Nm torque available with only 2 Nm applied at gimbal. Some of its other features include a dedicated single electronics channel per CMG, easy satellite integration, rigid preload in the bearings to withstand launch loads, precise balancing of the wheel and very low friction in the gimbal bearings for very low disturbances as well as highly accurate pointing performances. The product weighs 18.4 kgs and can operate for ten years in the low earth orbit (LEO).
