Insight4EO is Deimos’ on-board processing and autonomy solution for Earth Observation satellites. As a software product, it enables a software-defined satellite for intelligence and data processing, with functionality that includes:

1. Onboard, autonomous payload processing of optical images (multi/hyperspectral), and SAR data up to L1B/C.
2. A framework for custom apps (e.g., cloud detection vessel detection, target classification, mapping).
3. Autonomous re-tasking and data handling, including compression and encryption.
4. Integration with Deimos’ gs4EO ground segment solution.

Insight4EO allows satellites to create and deliver end-to-end EO products autonomously, enabling real-time EO applications. For more specific product generation, analytics applications can be customized (e.g., cloud detection, ship detection, etc).

Insight4EO has been developed as a turn-key on-board processing and intelligence product to enhance the performance and throughput of EO missions and payloads. It facilitates the edge-computing paradigm for knowledge and decision making in real-time, and for increased mission autonomy, throughput, and return-on-investment.
