The EREMS Remote Interface Unit (RIU) aims to gather the data collected from all sensors and to control many equipment of the orbiter such as the Attitude and Orbit Control Systems, the solar arrays, and the propulsion modules.
The Remote Interface Unit is deisgned to be radiation tolerant and is in constant communication with the onboard computer.
