Key highlights

The fentISS XtratuM is a hypervisor designed for a safe and efficient embedded real-time system with a time and space isolation feature.

The XtratuM is a bare-metal, space-qualified hypervisor enabling hardware virtualization technology available for space applications. The applications can share the same hardware platform without interfering each other using the hypervisor. The hypervisor reduces cost, size, weight and power of embedded safety-critical systems. It also enables simpler dynamic software updates. The time/space isolation allows easier reuse of (legacy) certified applications.

The hardware virtualization technology provides low-cost, efficient, multicore Systems on Chip (MPSoCs). XtratuM minimizes the recertification cost of already existing applications running as XtratuM partitions. Different Guest Operating Systems can be used by partitions running over XtratuM, allowing a system to cover a wide range of requirements.

Applications

XtratuM is suitable for safety-critical applications in space.
