Key highlights
The HEX20 AX Command & Data Handling (CDH) system is aligned with the AX CubeSat architecture and uses a SmartFusion 2 system on chip with an ARM Cortex M3 processor. CDH utilizes a system on module (SoM), which integrates a system on chip (SoC) from Microsemi. This SoC incorporates a microprocessor embedded in FPGA technology. It provides standard communication interfaces, storage, and an on-board IMU unit.
The CDH's primary functions include collecting housekeeping data from all subsystems and science data from the payload. Additionally, it facilitates subsystem configuration and houses a Real-Time Counter (RTC) for precise time tagging of data. The CDH board has a PC104 connector to interact with the subsystems. The main feature is that it provides 15 configurable IOs to meet the payload requirements.
Key features
HEX20’s subsystems are the building blocks that keep satellites reliable, efficient, and mission-ready. Each module is designed with precision, tested for resilience, and optimized for performance in orbit.
