Key highlights

IHI Aerospace offers the Pinot-G integrated, green proplusion module for small satellites, developed jointly with JAXA, for use in collision avoidance maneuvers.

The name 'Pinot' is an acronym for 'Pressurization in Orbit system' and was inspired by the typical stowing of small satellites in a rocket resembling a bunch of grapes.

Pinot–'G' utilizes HNP225, a green propellant developed by IHI Aerospace for safer handling at the launch site. The propellant is officially endorsed as 'Not a Class 1 substance' by NKKK (Nippon Kaiji Kentei Kyokai).
