Summary
OpenKit is Open Cosmos’ satellite qualification platform which allows users to develop their technologies against real physical interfaces that are fully compatible with Open Cosmos’ nanosatellite platforms. OpenKit can undergo environmental test campaigns together with payloads and can be used to functionally test and validate systems in order to reach payload flight readiness.
OpenKit allows rapid payload integration, testing and qualification including
Payload development support: using mechanical and electrical interfaces fully compatible with the Open Cosmos satellite platforms (3U, 6U and 12U configurations). It provides a dedicated Payload Interface Unit (PIU) computer running a Linux environment on which the user can deploy scripts to automate payload operations and store data to be downloaded once in orbit.
Payload/Subsystems qualification: allows functional and environmental testing and qualification campaigns monitoring the performance of the systems with live operations capabilities through OpenApp.
