The Redwire Fine Pointing Sun Sensor (FPSS) offers 2 measurement axes that enable high accuracy attitude determination. The unit is rad hard to 100 krad (Si).

Redwire's FPSS provides unambiguous sun angle data immediately upon application of power. The electronics unit contains no software, and performs without any internal forbidden states, latchup, or lost in space conditions. This system has performed reliably for more than 17 years each, for two separate solar observational missions. It is designed for continuous sun-stare operation.
