Key highlights
The SpacePNT NaviLEO is an advanced autonomous GNSS receiver solution. NaviMoon's advanced navigation algorithms integrated with precise orbital forces model can provide <100 m (3D rms) in Moon transfer orbits and cis-lunar space, fully autonomously, cutting the dependence on costly Earth infrastructure for orbit determination.
NaviMoon was developed to demonstrate for the first time, onboard the ESA-SSTL Lunar Pathfinder Spacecraft in orbit around the Moon, the use of terrestrial satellite navigation signals (i.e., GALILEO, GPS) for the purpose of real-time and autonomous orbit determination and Positioning, Navigation and Timing.
Applications
- Remote sensing
- Earth observation
- In-orbit servicing
- Space debris removal
- Provision of secured localization services from LEO (for GNSS backup or provision of alternate PNT services) or from cislunar orbits (for Moon PNT services)
- Autonomous navigation and timing for Moon missions
Key features
- Implements radiation tolerant HW/SW/FW architecture including latch-up protections and ECC
- Supports both passive and active antennas
- In-flight FW/SW upgradability
- One unique platform solution for launchers, LEO, GEO, HEO, and Moon missions
- Onboard orbital propagator for improved performance and availability
- Supports multiple GNSS (GPS, GALILEO) over multiple frequencie
- Supports cold redundancy (with 2 units)
