Manufacturing

Magnetron sputtering is one of the most widely used techniques for producing thin-film coatings. In this process, a dense plasma confined within a magnetic field generates a stable flux of sputtered silver atoms that deposit onto the Teflon FEP substrate. The resulting thin silver layer condenses uniformly on the Teflon, providing a reliable, high-reflectance Silver Teflon FEP tape.

Testing & qualification

This product meets NASA requirements for low thermal vacuum outgassing (ASTM E-595) where TML <1.0% and CVCM <0.1%.
