Summary
The NanoSat MO Framework is an advanced software framework designed for nanosatellite use. The framework has introduced the concept of 'apps in space' which can be started and stopped from the ground. Such apps are able to retrieve data using the NanoSat MO Framework via a set of well-defined MO services. The framework is based on CCSDS Mission Operations services and includes the capability to develop a wide range of extensions due to the system's modular and flexible design. This provides all of the building blocks for a complete and free end-to-end solution for developers who want to develop apps in space that can work from (and with) data and coordination on the ground. The research was carried out in partnership with Graz University of Technology and all of the software is freely available online on ESA's GitHub.
