COMAT designs, manufactures, integrates and tests space mechanisms, scientific equipment, optomechanical systems and electric propulsion. For over 40 years, the company has cooperated with CNES, ESA, and the main European space players. Originally a designer of human spaceflight equipment, COMAT has been involved for many years in the development of on-demand satellite equipment.

Beyond its engineering expertise, COMAT owns the manufacturing, integration and test facilities serving the entire space equipment value-chain, from R&D down to mass production in accordance to the strictest Quality Management and Safety Management Systems (QMS/SMS). Five years ago, such know-how drove the company to develop their own family of smallsat products. This range includes electric propulsion with the Plasma Jet Pack technology, reaction wheels, as well as deployable antennas and booms. After decades of experience as a subcontractor of space industry primes, COMAT developed its own products to better meet the needs of the market and expand its activities.
