CSHARK is an Italy-based technology company currently developing a constellation of pico-satellites in order to create a global Internet of Things (IoT) network.
The constellation will utilize the media access control layer protocol, LoRaWAN, and its satellites will be located at Low Earth Orbit (LEO) level, mainly in Sun Synchronous Orbit (SSO).
The first satellite in the constellation was launched in the PILOT-1 mission and was successfully inserted into its orbit on the 13th of January 2022.
CSHARK offers a variety of solutions for IoT applications along with commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) components for picosatellites.
The company has developed a payload called KOUBE, which is able to communicate with ground devices using the LoRa protocol at 868MHz, and can also take pictures of the Earth's surface with its integrated camera.
The KOUBE system is flight-proven and soon CSHARK will also release a on-board computer (OBC) designed specifically for pico-satellites, which can be integrated with many different kinds of payload.
