Our projects include specialised transport containers for spacecraft flight hardware which often include integrated handling, air conditioning and clean room controls. Containers for large spacecraft modules require special consideration due to the size constraints for transportation and for the very high value and sensitive nature of the contents. Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) is the equipment used in the Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) facilities of our customers and typically includes items such as lifting equipment, flight hardware interface adaptors, turnover trolleys, special test adaptors and other necessary tooling items. EPS has developed a knowledge of the technology necessary for the safe and proper handling of flight hardware during AIT activities. Recent projects include containers and MGSE for the much publicised UK Beagle 2 Mars Lander mission, containers for Eurostar 3000 ‘Y’ Panels and very large specialised containers for the NEOSAT Spacecraft Communications Module and Spacecraft Service Module EPS prides itself in being able to design and manufacture these specialised pieces of equipment on time and within budget.
