Key highlights
German Orbital Systems (GOS) is a spin-off from Technische Universität (TU) Berlin, a well-known university when it comes to satellite technology. Following the design philosophy and the component base from these projects enables GOS to provide reliable and robust solutions for small satellites at a competitive price.
Founded in 2014, GOS has recently developed, assembled, tested, verified, and launched 11 commercial CubeSats and one microsatellite adding to the portfolio of missions and platforms that have been developed from concept to launch and operations.
GOS specializes in separation sequence management units for launch vehicles and launch support services through its sister company, Exolaunch. Since 2017, each cargo Soyuz launched from Russian launch sites has been equipped with GOS separation devices to deploy piggyback payloads precisely. Under this cooperation, GOS and Exolaunch have developed a family of CubeSat separation and deploying systems.
During the last two years, more than 100 SmallSats have been launched by the companies. GOS has played a major role in the technical support including ballistic calculations, separation sequence planning, and provision of qualification and acceptance test campaigns. This has made GOS a "turnkey solution" where the customer can get all their service needs, from subcomponents, rideshare opportunities, to entire missions.
