Key highlights

Rogue is developing Orbital Robots (Orbot™) to service satellites in LEO, MEO, and GEO. The company's fleet of Orbot's include:

  • LAURA (12U) - Inspect, Monitor & Observe (Q2- 2022): inspection and monitoring, with high-definition cameras and sensors.
  • FRED (OTV) - Transport, Capture & Robotics (Q3- 2022): able to move satellites and other assets to and from different orbits, for example from GEO to the International Space Station in LEO, and for the occasional "jiggle" when needed.
  • CHARLIE (16U) - Precision Robotic Assistance (Q2- 2023): Fine motor robotics for delicate servicing tasks.

Rouge Space also offers the following services to the space market:

Orbital Transport

Customers wishing to move their satellite or asset to another location or have it moved from a drop-off point in LEO and then taken to MEO, GEO, or Lunar. Rogue Space also provides retrieval and reclamation services by transporting assets located in outer orbits and return them to LEO outpost(s) for repair or retrofitting.

Life Extension Services

  • Station Keeping – If a satellite's propulsion fails or runs out of fuel but is still functional otherwise, one of Rogue orbital robots (Orbots™) can attach to the in-orbit satellite and maintain its position.
  • Power Augmentation – Using robotics it is possible to tap into the power system of a target and augment its power in case of failure or loss of capability. These can be custom missions dependent upon the power requirements/demand of the customers' system.

Robotic Repair

Using Charlie Orbots™, Rogue Space can provide repair capabilities ranging from assisting with systems that do not deploy properly such as solar panels, thrusters, antennas, etc. to (with coordination and guidance from the manufacturer) accessing the internal systems of a satellite to provide mechanical assistance such as probing contacts, cabling and potentially parts replacement when possible. This service capability will also be leveraged when performing Life Extension Services in some cases depending upon the situation.

Inspection & Assessment

Many times when problems occur, simply getting a visual on the satellite can provide invaluable information that can be used to repair or resolve an issue. Validating physical complications and problems can also be useful. Laura Orbot™'s primary function will be to provide these visual insights, whereby the data collected can be used to plan and support an additional mission that may be required to perform a repair or provide some other service the customer necessitates.
