Key highlights

Based on the Near Space testing service and balloon capabilities developed with ESA, B2Space offers stratospheric balloon platforms to perform different HAPS missions.

Compared to traditional satellites, HAPS are able to provide real-time information, higher resolution images and the ability to fly over areas of interest on demand. Possible applications include:

  • Telecommunications:
    • 4G/5G coverage in remote areas
    • Eliminate communication "dark areas" in maritime and airplanes routes
    • Emergency communication (disasters)
  • Support for smart applications:
    • Earth observation
    • Smart agriculture
    • Mapping and cartography
    • Environment control
  • Surveillance:
    • Border control
    • Illegal fishing
    • Oil spills
