The DCUBED Micro Release Nut (uD3RN) is a release nut for small satellites, nanosatellites and other form factor systems. It is used for satellite Hold Down and Release Mechanisms (HDRMs) that release the satellite from the launcher and in various other applications where a joint connection needs to be separated, for example when deploying a rover from a lander.
Other suitable applications range from triggering the release of deployable structures, such as solar arrays or antennas, to CubeSat deployers.
The release nut is designed and developed by keeping the needs of NewSpace customers in mind, where size, costs as well as delivery time are most critical.
DCUBED also offers a counterpart Micro Pin Puller that can be viewed here.
In addition, DCUBED is more than happy to work with customers to develop custom solutions that fit their needs. DCUBED particularly excels in scenarios where customers need to pack their space-bound system in a small form factor for launch, but then need it to be deployed into a much larger area in space.
