Key highlights

Raptor has enhanced its range of SWIR cameras with the launch of the Owl 2560 Vis-SWIR camera, the highest resolution InGaAs camera on the market. Using a back-illuminated InGaAs sensor (1¼”, 2560 × 2048 pixels with 3.45μm × 3.45μm pixel pitch), the QUAD SXGA camera offers uniform spectral sensitivity from 400-1700nm running at up to 60fps. It interfaces through a single wire CoaXpress interface meaning less connectors for slip-ring / systems integration.

Applications

Space situational awareness, space domain awareness, debris tracking, surveillance, earth observation

Key features

•2560 x 2048, 3.45μm pitch VIS-SWIR technology - Enables highest resolution imaging from 0.4μm to 1.7μm

•CoaXpress interfaceSingle wire - less connectors for slip-ring / systems integration

•On-board Automated Gain Control (AGC)Enables clear video in all light conditions

•Advanced video enhancement and signal processing featuresOptimizing image quality and output in real-time

Customization

We offer flight-ready, modified COTS cameras with very short lead times. We also offer custom capabilities including mechanical, optical, firmware and electronic requirements. We discuss each opportunity on a case by case basis to come up with the best solution for our customers.

Flight heritage

Almost 100 of our cameras are now flying in our customers' LEO payloads. Some of our cameras have now been in orbit for over 4 years and still imaging. Our cameras are designed to MilSpec standards, enabling them to survive in harsh environments including extremes in shock and vibration, temperature and radiation. We are happy to shar edetails of these under NDA.

Manufacturing

We operate out of our manufacturing facility in the UK, making over 1,500 cameras per year for a variety of markets and applications. Over the past five years we have worked closely with our space customers, enabling us to improve our capabilities and know-how specifically for space. We can offer the following:

•Extended operating temperature from -40°C to +75°C
•Radiation tolerant – Proven 36 months + in LEO orbits, details under NDA.
•Ruggedised connectors – Single 80-pin connector – other options available
•Class 3a manufactured PCBs with solder standard IPC J-STD-001GS
•Optional conformal board coatings
•Flexi-rigid electronics to fit specific EO space systems
•Customized mechanics finished in space industry recognised conformal coatings
•Vented screws where necessary and options for bonding/staking material
•Flat front or removable lens mounts
•Advanced video enhancement and signal processing features – Optimizing image quality and output in real-time.

Testing & qualification

Raptor designs and builds innovative, high-quality cameras. We carry a number of accreditations and standards.

MilSpec Standards: All our cameras are designed to MIL-STD-810F and MIL-STD-704F standards
High Quality: We carry the latest quality accreditation BS EN ISO 9001:2015 and IPC Class 3. We have RMAs (returns) of < 2%
Rugged and Compact: Our cameras are designed for EMC & Environmental stress, shock & vibration
Quality Workmanship: Our cameras are built to Class IPCa610, ESD and are RoHS Compliant

Export control

Rator operates under strick UK Export Control Guidelines. Depending on the sensor/camera required, we may ask our customers for EUUs and we may need to apply for export licenses.

Distributors

Raptor has a direct sales team, as well as working with 3rd party distributors. You can find out moinformation at https://www.raptorphotonics.com/distributors/

Customers

We work with customers all round the world from students in universities and research labs through to systems integrators, OEMs and primes. We work with commercial entities as well as goverment bodies across our markets.
