PocketQube Launch

Summary

Need a launch for your PocketQube Satellite? We can find you opportunities to get your satellite flown. The secondary payload market allows small satellites to be flown alongside other satellites. Existing Launch brokers have typically not been interested in PocketQubes, as you need a large number of satellites to fill any launch vehicle. PocketQubes launch services significantly undercut existing cubesat prices to leo (from approx $100k for 1U/$300k for 3U to 25k euro for a 1p), democratizing access to space.

On the 6th of December 2019, Alba Orbital successfully launched ‘Alba Cluster 2’ and deployed 6 PocketQubes via Albapod into orbit.

Alba Orbital has developed strong partnerships with several launch companies and brokers. This enables us to offer launch opportunities to companies, universities and teams. We currently run an annual launch service to ensure reliable access to space for PocketQube teams. As demand increases we expect to increase our cadence to biannual then quarterly launch opportunities. To date, Alba has successfully deployed more PocketQubes into orbit than any other organisation.

Deployers and Interface Control Document (ICD):

Alba Launch clusters use Albapod deployers. These come in two varieties, 6p and 96p. Albapod uses a flight proven release mechanism to ensure performance in-orbit. Our Interface Control Document (ICD) covers the technical requirements for interfacing a sat to our deployer.
