Key highlights
Space Products and Innovation (SPiN) spins technology into the space industry to simplify space manufacturing.
Specializing in modular solutions, SPiN enables efficient and cost-effective component integration for satellite manufacturers.
SPiN's solutions combine model-based system engineering with the MA61C, Multipurpose Adapter Generic Interface Connector, a plug-and-play intelligent data node that allows rapid and flexible satellite design.
MA61C facilitates seamless connection and integration of off-the-shelf components, reducing design costs by 50%, production costs by 30%, and integration time by a year. It accommodates satellites of various sizes, from CubeSats to larger spacecraft. Born as a university project, during the years, SPiN's innovative approach earned multiple awards, including Best Business Solution at Startup Weekend Space (2015), the Space2Business competition (2022), and Space2Connect (2023). In 2022, SPiN launched SPiN-1, a CubeSat for orbit demonstration, with plans for another in 2025. In 2024, SPiN closed a €1.63 million seed funding round led by Galaxia, the Italian Technology Transfer Hub on Aerospace powered by CDP Venture Capital and Obloo Ventures, with participation from Scientifica Venture Capital and Innova Venture. Headquartered in Frascati, Rome, Italy, SPiN has offices in Germany, Luxemburg, UK and in the USA.
As of 2024, SPiN employs about 30 people, determined to democratize access to space, empowering satellite manufacturers to focus resources on pioneering new ventures.
