Scanway is a Polish space company that designs, develops, integrates, and tests optical payloads for nanosatellites and microsatellites.

The company produces payloads in the VIS, NIR and SWIR wavelengths, featuring a variety of sensors such as CMOS, multispectral, and hyperspectral. Scanway also produces a Satellite Health Scanner system for satellite auto-diagnostics.

The business operates a dedicated manufacturing facility, including a cleanroom and a variety of optical adjustment equipment, enabling it to perform Assembly, Integration and Test (AIT) activities, as well as produce fast-prototype mechanics and electronics.

Scanway has several payloads contracted to be launched within next 4 years, including:

  • A telescope and Satellite Health Scanner auto-diagnostics system in the Star Vibe mission. The mission is scheduled for launch in 2022 with Scanway’s partner in Germany.
  • A microsatellite optical payload in the EagleEye project, designed to achieve 1m GSD from VLEO with a 200 mm aperture (RC telescope). The satellite is scheduled for launch in Q4 2023 and is being developed jointly with other Polish space entities.
  • 2 microsatellite optical payloads for a constellation operated by the Polish military in the PIAST project. The satellites are scheduled for launch in 2025 and are being developed jointly with other Polish civilian and military space entities.

Scanway also has experience in R&D activities related to optics and electronics, and is open to discussing both the development of new systems and the adaptation of the company’s existing portfolio to meet customer requirements.
